The Sur-Ron Hyper Bee is the bike we get asked about most by parents. It is a proper, full-suspension electric dirt bike sized for younger riders, not a watered-down toy. Real KKE suspension, real hydraulic brakes, real PMSM motor, real Sur-Ron build quality. We sell it because we ride them ourselves.
Built for younger riders, not built down to a price
Most kids dirt bikes are either toys or scaled-down petrol bikes that overwhelm a learner. The Hyper Bee sits in a sweet spot: it has the build quality of an adult Sur-Ron with geometry, weight and power output dialled for riders who are still learning. The forged aluminium frame, KKE suspension and dual hydraulic disc brakes are the same level of kit you would find on a serious adult enduro, just sized smaller.
Compared to a Honda CRF110F or Kawasaki KLX110R, the Hyper Bee is lighter, quieter, and far easier to learn on. There is no clutch, no kick start, no stalling. The three-stage throttle map lets parents start a complete beginner on the lowest power setting and unlock the full bike as confidence builds.
Two configurations: 14"/12" and 12"/10"
The Hyper Bee comes in two wheel-size configurations. The 14"/12" version suits riders roughly from age 8 upward, with an adjustable seat from 665 mm to 705 mm. The smaller 12"/10" version drops seat height to 635 mm and reduces overall length, making it our recommendation for younger or shorter riders who want a real dirt bike experience without being on tiptoes. Both share the same 5 kW PMSM motor and 50.4 V battery.
Parental control that actually works
This is the feature that sells the bike. The Hyper Bee ships with a key fob remote that lets a parent or coach set the power mode from up to 300 metres away, kill the bike instantly in an emergency, and even communicate via the built-in intercom. Combined with the magnetic kill cord and gyroscope tilt protection, it is genuinely the safest first dirt bike we have ever sold.
Battery and charging
The Hyper Bee runs a 1.26 kWh removable lithium-ion battery (50.4 V, 25 Ah). It pulls out in around ten seconds via a magnetic interface, so families with two riders can swap a fresh pack between sessions. A 0 to 100 percent charge takes roughly 4.5 hours from a standard UK 13 amp socket. A 20 to 80 percent top-up is about 2 hours.
Range varies massively depending on riding style and rider weight, but expect around 50 km of mixed trail use. Aggressive riding on the highest power setting will drop that significantly. The regenerative braking system has three adjustable levels and helps reclaim energy on descents.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Sur-Ron Hyper Bee road legal in the UK?
No. The Hyper Bee is supplied as an off-road vehicle and is not type-approved for UK public roads. It can only be ridden on private land with the landowner's permission, or on designated off-road tracks and motocross sites. Sur-Ron does sell a road-legal Light Bee L1E variant, but the Hyper Bee is not available in a road-legal version.
What age is the Hyper Bee for?
There is no manufacturer minimum age, but the bike is sized for younger riders roughly from age 8 upward on the 14"/12" configuration. The smaller 12"/10" version with its 635 mm seat height suits younger or shorter riders. We recommend the rider can comfortably touch the ground with the balls of both feet. Maximum rider weight is 60 kg.
How long does the battery last on a full charge?
Around 50 km of mixed off-road riding on a full charge, with cruising speeds around 40 km/h. Hard riding on the highest power mode in technical terrain will reduce that significantly. The battery is removable in around 10 seconds, so a spare pack lets you double your session length.
Can a beginner ride the Hyper Bee safely?
Yes. This is one of the bike's strengths. The three-stage throttle map lets a parent start a complete beginner on the lowest power setting where the bike is gentle and forgiving. The parental remote can lock the power mode and kill the bike instantly from up to 300 metres away. Combined with full hydraulic brakes and proper suspension, it is genuinely a great first dirt bike.
How does it compare to a petrol kids dirt bike like a CRF110F?
The Hyper Bee is lighter (39 kg vs 79 kg), quieter, and has no clutch or stalling to worry about. It is more expensive than a basic CRF110F new, but maintenance is far lower (no oil, no spark plugs, no carb tuning) and you can ride it almost anywhere without disturbing neighbours. The petrol bikes still have an edge on outright top speed for older riders, but for learning and trail use the Hyper Bee is hard to beat.
What finance options are available?
We offer Payitmonthly finance at checkout. You can spread the cost of your bike over up to 12 months at 0% APR, at no extra cost and subject to status. Choose Payitmonthly as your payment method at checkout and complete a short application. Final approval depends on the lender's credit decision.
How long does delivery take?
For UK warehouse models, delivery usually arrives within around 3 working days. We can typically have the bike collected by our courier the next working day after you order, and delivered the working day after that. Delivery times are estimates and occasional delays can happen. China warehouse bikes usually take around 60 days from order, and may occasionally take a little longer if delays occur.
Can I connect this bike to the Sur-Ron app?
Our bikes cannot be connected to the Sur-Ron app due to technical limitations with product regions. This does not change the functionality of the bike, as the app is not needed for using the bike as usual.
The 2026 Sur-Ron Hyper Bee is the biggest update we have seen on this platform. 8 kW peak power (up from 5), 65 km/h top speed (up from 55), faster zero-to-fifty, a higher-voltage 58 V battery, and a new stack of safety electronics built specifically around younger, less experienced riders. Sur-Ron Anti Wheelie Control. Magnetic wrist-strap kill switch. Gyroscope tilt cutoff. Parental remote with one-touch emergency power-off. And a torque wrench tool kit included with every MY26 bike.
What is new for 2026
If you have ridden a 2025 Hyper Bee, almost every number on the spec sheet has moved up:
- 8 kW peak power, up from 5 kW. A 60% increase in motor output, with the same chassis and weight distribution.
- 65 km/h top speed (40 mph), up from 55 km/h. Closes the gap to the Light Bee X for older or more confident teen riders without losing the smaller-bike feel.
- Quicker acceleration: 0 to 30 km/h in 1.19 seconds (down from 1.5 s), 0 to 50 km/h in 2.59 seconds (down from 3.6 s).
- 58 V / 22 Ah battery: higher voltage architecture replaces the 50.4 V / 25 Ah pack. Lower current draw for the same power, less heat under sustained load, better consistency at the back end of a long session.
- 3-level SAWC (Sur-Ron Anti Wheelie Control). Brand new for 2026.
- Magnetic wrist-strap emergency kill switch. If the rider comes off, the magnetic tether detaches and the motor cuts immediately.
- Electronic gyroscope tilt cutoff. Even if the wrist strap stays attached, the onboard gyroscope monitors the bike's posture and cuts power if it tips past a defined angle.
- Parental remote control with up to 300 m range. Power mode, regen level, throttle sensitivity, horn volume, tilt sensitivity, SAWC level and emergency power-off, all controllable from the touchline.
- Multi-function dashboard with speed, mileage, battery, power mode, reverse indicator, fault codes, Bluetooth and remote intercom.
- T-Box smartphone app integration. Launch the app to remotely monitor the bike, locate it via GPS and adjust settings.
- S-S Lock quick-release battery. Tool-free, single-handed 10-second swap. No traditional hatch.
- Upgraded grips and chain guards: 26 mm anti-slip locking grips with cushioned rubber rings, full upper and lower chain protection, full disc cover on the drive wheel brake.
- Free OEM torque wrench tool kit included with every MY26 Hyper Bee. Standard kit, not an optional extra.
- Colour options: same range as the 2025 model: Blue, Green, Pink (Limited Edition) and Yellow. Choose the look you want, get all the 2026 upgrades underneath.
The parental safety story, made stronger for 2026
The Hyper Bee has always been the bike we recommend to parents because of the key fob remote and the gyroscope tilt cutoff. For 2026 Sur-Ron has stacked the safety system properly. There are now three independent layers that can cut power to the motor in an emergency:
- Wrist-strap magnetic switch: tethered to the rider. If the rider falls or is thrown clear, the magnet detaches and the motor cuts immediately. This is the same principle used on professional jet-skis and competition watercraft. It is the most reliable instant cutoff system on a small dirt bike, and it does not require the parent to do anything.
- Electronic gyroscope tilt cutoff: even if the rider stays on but the bike tips past a safe angle (a low-side, a near-miss, a side-stand left up), the gyroscope detects the lean and cuts the motor before the bike is fully down. This protects the motor, the rider, and the parent watching from the touchline.
- Parental remote with one-touch emergency power-off: a coach or parent up to 300 m away can stop the bike instantly. Same remote also adjusts power mode, throttle sensitivity, horn volume and SAWC level on the fly.
None of these features replace supervision and proper safety kit (helmet, boots, gloves, knee and elbow pads, body armour). They give you a much bigger safety margin while a younger rider is still building their skills.
SAWC: Sur-Ron Anti Wheelie Control
SAWC is an intelligent control system that senses the bike's posture through an onboard gyroscope and modulates the controller's power output to manage the front-wheel pitch angle. In plain English: when a younger rider grabs a fistful of throttle, SAWC limits how aggressively the front lifts. The bike does not flip back. The rider does not bin it.
SAWC is adjustable across three levels (W1, W2, W3) plus off, controlled from the dashboard or the parental remote. Beginners run W3 (most intervention), advanced riders run W1 or off, intermediate riders sit in the middle.
One important note from Sur-Ron's own guidance: do not activate SAWC during off-road jumps where you actually want the front to lift. Toggle it off for ramps and tabletops, toggle it back on for general trail riding.
Power, controller and ride modes
The 2026 Hyper Bee runs an MTPA/MTPV FOC controller paired with the new 8 kW PMSM motor. The controller intelligently allocates current and voltage to deliver maximum torque smoothly at every RPM. The throttle is mappable across three response curves (F1, F2, F3) from the remote, so a parent can set a beginner up on the gentlest curve and unlock the bike progressively as confidence grows.
Three riding modes can be selected freely (and can be swapped on the bike's dashboard or remotely). Regen braking is 6-level adjustable (E0 to E5). The gradual power output makes the bike feel smaller and more manageable than the spec sheet suggests.
Battery and charging
The MY26 Hyper Bee runs a 58 V / 22 Ah lithium-ion battery, removable via the new S-S Lock (Sur-Ron Simple Lock) quick-release. Knob-style compression, no hatch, tool-free, single-handed swap in 10 seconds. The hollow handle on top of the battery integrates with the seat cushion for a clean look.
Real-world range varies massively with rider weight and riding style. Expect around 40 to 60 km of mixed trail riding at sensible pace, less on full attack. A 0 to 100 percent charge takes roughly 4 hours on a standard UK 13 A socket.
Adjustable seat height: built to grow with you
The 2026 Hyper Bee uses an OEM thick seat cushion as standard, with an optional thin seat cushion available separately for younger riders who need a lower stand-over. The front fork outer tube installation height is also adjustable. Combined, the seat height can be set across three dimensions from 630 mm to 710 mm.
Wheel sets are also interchangeable. Optional off-road sets in 12"/10" and 14"/12" are available separately, plus a supermoto 10"/10" wheel set for tarmac and bike-park days. All bikes ship with the standard MY26 wheel and tyre combination as shown in the photos.
Multi-function dashboard, Bluetooth and remote intercom
The bar-mounted display shows speed, mileage, battery level, power mode, reverse gear indicator, fault codes, Bluetooth connectivity status and remote intercom status. Despite its compact footprint it covers everything a rider or parent needs to monitor mid-session.
Bluetooth pairing connects to the T-Box app for remote bike monitoring and to the included intercom (paired with the parental remote, lets a parent talk to a younger rider directly during a session).
Free torque wrench tool kit (MY26 only)
Every MY26 Hyper Bee from Sur-Ron ships with a standard OEM torque wrench tool kit. Premium quality, precise fit, all-in-one storage case. Not an optional extra and not added to the price. It is in the box with the bike.
Colourways
The 2026 Hyper Bee is offered in the same four finishes as the 2025 model year: Blue, Green, Pink (Limited Edition) and Yellow. The colour range carries over; everything underneath the paint is new for MY26.

Frequently asked questions
What age is the 2026 Hyper Bee for?
Sur-Ron design the Hyper Bee around riders roughly age 8 and up. Seat height is adjustable 630 to 710 mm across three dimensions, so a shorter younger rider can sit flat-footed and the same bike grows with them as they get taller. The 2026 jump in top speed (now 65 km/h) and power (8 kW) makes the bike better suited to older teens and lighter adults too. SAWC and the throttle response curves let parents start a complete beginner on a tame setup and unlock the bike progressively as confidence grows.
How is the 2026 Hyper Bee different to the 2025?
Power 5 kW to 8 kW, top speed 55 to 65 km/h, much quicker acceleration, new 58 V battery, 3-level Sur-Ron Anti Wheelie Control, wrist-strap magnetic kill switch, gyroscope tilt cutoff, parental remote with 300 m range and one-touch emergency power-off, multi-function dashboard with Bluetooth, T-Box app integration, S-S Lock quick-release battery, upgraded grips and chain guards, and a free OEM torque wrench tool kit standard with every MY26 bike. Same Blue / Green / Pink Limited Edition / Yellow colour range as 2025.
Should I buy the 2025 or the 2026?
Buy the 2026 if you want the bigger motor, the new safety stack, the parental remote and the free tool kit. Buy the 2025 if your rider is at the lower end of the age range and you do not want the higher top speed and acceleration. Both bikes share the same compact, parent-friendly chassis. Message us on WhatsApp if you are unsure which size or year suits your rider.
How does the parental remote work?
The remote pairs with the bike's onboard receiver and works up to 150 to 300 metres away (line of sight). From the remote a parent or coach can adjust regen level (E0 to E5), throttle sensitivity (F1 to F3), horn volume (G1 to G7), tilt sensitivity, SAWC level (W0 to W3), Bluetooth pairing and the unit of speed display. The big red button on the remote is a one-touch emergency power-off, instantly cuts the motor. The remote can also intercom-call the rider when the bike's Bluetooth audio link is paired.
What is SAWC and is it on by default?
SAWC is Sur-Ron's Anti Wheelie Control. A gyroscope reads the bike's pitch angle and the controller modulates power to stop the front lifting too aggressively. It is adjustable across 3 levels (W1, W2, W3) plus off, and the level can be changed from the dashboard or remotely. We recommend new riders start on W3 (most intervention). Important: do not activate SAWC during off-road jumps where you want the front to lift on purpose, toggle it off for tabletops and ramps.
Is the 2026 Hyper Bee road legal in the UK?
No. The Hyper Bee is off-road only and not type-approved for UK public roads. It is for private land, MX tracks, motorsport venues, trail centres and other off-road riding spots. There is no road-legal variant.
The on-bike dashboard, parental remote and T-Box monitoring all work without the Sur-Ron app.
