Plug in after a ride or overnight and it is ready by morning. There are faster chargers available if you want to cut the time, but the standard one is plenty for most riders.

How to charge safely

• Use the right charger. The one supplied with the bike, or a genuine replacement. Cheap unknown chargers are a false economy.
• Charge on a hard surface. Not on a carpet or anything flammable, and with some airflow around the charger.
• Dry the bike first. Never charge a soaking wet bike. Dry the connectors after wet rides, as our wet weather guide covers.
• Let it cool. If the battery is hot after a hard ride, give it half an hour before charging.
• Be around. Charge when you are home and awake where you can, rather than overnight unattended in a sleeping house.
• Charge in the warm. Avoid charging a freezing cold battery. Bring it inside to a sensible temperature first.

Batteries do not like the cold. In winter you will notice slightly less range, which is normal, and it is best to charge the pack indoors at a sensible temperature rather than in a freezing shed.
